General Roleplay Terms

Some things are difficult to communicate without breaking character or RP. Players use phrases that are more RP friendly to avoid directly referencing game mechanics or things IRL.

The following table covers terms you might hear or want to use if needed.

General Roleplay Terms
Terms Definition Usage
Tsunami, Storm Server restart. "When is the tsunami coming?"
Island The server or map. "I'm new to this island."
Muscle Key or keybind. "Use your F muscle to mine."
Quick Flight, Quick Nap Exiting to the game lobby and rejoining. Helpful when relogging to troubleshoot. "Take a quick nap, see if that helps."
Headache, Brainfreeze Low FPS or lag. "I've got a bad headache, give me a second."
Icy, Slippery Low FPS or lag; especially desync in a vehicle. "The roads are really slippery today."
Lost my voice, Sore throat Teamspeak issues. "Sorry, *cough cough* I lost my voice."
Gods Server admins (use discouraged, use F2 to make a staff ticket if you need help). "I think it was an act of God."

Terms in RP

Some terms are used and discovered in RP. Much like in real life, certain analogies are used to avoid drawing attention. For example, if a man on a street corner offers to sell you "herb", you know by context he isn't pawning oregano but he hasn't outright exposed himself. Players may use similar phrases to carry out secret functions or crime without getting caught. These things should be found out in RP.

With varying degrees of sucess, players might try to auction their "airsoft" rifles on Twitter or YellowPages. Historically, the Mafia could launder your dirty "clothes": the act of cleaning dirty money into clean and usable cash.
