Joining ANZUS Gaming: Arma 3 Roleplay

Welcome to ANZUSGaming!

This guide covers how to get whitelisted and set-up mods.

If you have already completed these steps, follow the "Day One" guide.

Getting Whitelisted

We are a whitelisted community. We ask for a minimal amount of steps to be completed ahead of time to vet new players and ensure they have a decent level of understanding of our server and the rules. The following steps must be completed to gain whitelisting and Discord/Teamspeak tags.

  • Create an ANZUSGaming Forum Account
  • Read the Server Rules
  • Join the ANZUSGaming Discord Server
  • In the Discord, link your Steam64 ID in the #linking channel (/link YourSteam64IdHere).
  • Join the ts.anzusgaming.com and locate the Requesting Tags channel.
  • Prepare the "Requesting Tags" template (below and in the TeamSpeak channel description) whilst waiting for a staff member to assist you.

Installing Mods

You can install the latest ANZUS life modpack via the Arma 3 Steam Workshop (recommended) or Arma3Sync. The installation guides can also be found on the forums.

Steam Workshop

The modpack is uploaded to the Arma 3 Steam Workshop. Subscribe to the collection to download the pack.

In the Arma 3 launcher, ensure only the modpack is checked under "Loaded mods". You can also "Repair" the mod to load updates or patches.

Setting up Task Force Radio

ANZUS does not use the vanilla voice system you find in the standard Arma 3 game and most Altis Life servers, we use Task Force Radio, a TeamSpeak 3 plugin you will most commonly associate with Milsim communities.

You can follow this video on how to install Teamspeak3 and TFAR.

Please note, that we currently do not support TeamSpeak 5, and you will have to download TeamSpeak from the page you can find here.

Here is a guide on how to install our new Task Force Radio plugin that we deployed with the 6.5 update.

The server will not let you join without TeamSpeak open and TFAR enabled. You cannot have two instances of TeamSpeak running whilst TFAR is activated.

Push-To-Talk

Setting a "Push-To-Talk" hotkey in TeamSpeak is advised. You will use this in-game to talk to people close to you. Your radio is set to Caps Lock by default.

Set or update your push to talk:

  • Open TeamSpeak
  • Alt + P to open the Options menu
  • Select "Capture" to view your microphone settings
  • Under "Activation", check "Push-To-Talk"
  • Check or set your Push-To-Talk button
  • Ensure your microphone is set as your "Capture Device"

You can now use your Push-To-Talk button for proximity chat in the game. Using Ctrl + Tab cycles through your voice volumes: whisper, normal, and yelling.

Your first time on the server

You can view the hotkeys and keybinds on the server here.
