Rules & Disclaimers
Before visiting the Casino, you must understand and abide by the relevant server rules:
2.1 - When casino employees ask for your age you must give your real legal age. You cannot gamble if you are under 18. Casino employees have the final say in allowing you to gamble.
This rule is in place to protect the community; especially younger members. Gambling can be harmful to some regardless of whether it is in-game currency. The rule exists to match most regulations found in real life.
Gambling on Anzus is designed to emulate experiences in real life. The games are down to chance and gambling is not a guaranteed profit method.
Casino
Bingo
Bingo is a game of chance. A machine pulls random numbered balls 1 - 75. Check off these numbers if they appear on your Bingo card.
You can purchase Bingo cards at the Bingo screen behind the Casino bar counter. Using your Windows key, you can buy a Bingo card, view your card, and watch the Bingo draw on screen.
Anzus Bingo plays for a full house - you must check off every number on your card to win.
Blackjack
Blackjack is a card game played against the dealer. You bet on having the highest value hand without surpassing a total 21 a.k.a. going "bust".
To play Blackjack at the Emotion Casino, use your Windows key on the table and join a game. The UI will present you with text boxes to input your bets and the game event log which tracks turns and prompts you. Once the game begins, you will see yours and the dealer's cards appear on the screen. You can now use the "hit", "stand", and "double down buttons".
The following is an introductory guide on how to play. You can learn more about how to play Blackjack here.
Blackjack Basics
Each card holds a value:
- 2 through 10: Face value (e.g., 2 is worth 2 points, 3 is worth 3 points, and so on)
- Jack, Queen, King: 10 points
- Ace: 1 or 11 points (player's choice on whatever suits the hand)
The objective is to hold as close to 21 - Blackjack - as possible. If you are lucky, you may be dealt a natural Blackjack such as an Ace and a King where the outcome will always be a win or the hand will be "pushed" if the dealer also attains 21.
Once you are dealt your first two cards, you can "hit" for another card or "stand" with what you have. The dealer must stand on 17 and draw until 16 for their hand.
Winning hands pays even money at 1 to 1 except Blackjack which pays 3 to 2.
Doubling Down
If you like the look of your hand or are feeling particularly lucky, you may choose to "Double Down" on your bet. This, as the name suggests, involves doubling your original bet. This doubles your exposure but also your potential profit.
You may only double down on your first two cards. You cannot double down on a Blackjack. You will then be dealt one card and cannot hit your hand again. The dealer may continue to draw for their hand as usual.
Side Bets
Anzus Blackjack tables also allow for Side Betting. This is an additional bet to your initial stake as insurance in case the dealer has a Blackjack. If successful, this bet pays out 2 to 1 (e.g. your side bet is $100, and a win returns $300 for a $200 profit). If the dealer does not have Blackjack, you lose your insurance bet.
Poker
Anzus' tables are Texas Hold'em Poker. Players aim to make the best hand using their two cards and five shared cards. The game starts with two forced bets, then players get two private cards. Five shared cards in the "river" are dealt in stages. Players bet or fold after each stage. The best hand or last player left wins.
To play Poker at the Emotion Casino, use your Windows key on the table and join a game. The UI will present you with text boxes to input your bets and the game event log which tracks turns and prompts you. Once the game begins, you will see yours and the dealer's cards appear on the screen. You will then see options to bet, check, or fold.
As far as gambling goes on Anzus, Poker has the most to remember and is arguably the hardest to get to grips with. You can learn more here; videos may also be helpful to show the stages of the game in full.
Poker Hands
Cards and their combinations hold value. In order:
- High Card - Value from a single card. Two is the lowest and Ace is the highest.
- Pairs - Two of the same value card (e.g. two Jacks, two sevens).
- Two Pairs - Two sets of two (e.g. two Queens and two nines).
- Three of a Kind - Three of the same value card (e.g. three sixes).
- Straight - Five cards running in order where at least one is a different suit.
- Flush - Five cards of the same suit.
- Full House - Three of a Kind and a Pair (e.g. three sixes and two Kings).
- Four of a Kind - Four of the same value card (e.g. four sevens).
- Straight Flush - Five cards running in order in the same suit.
- Royal Flush - The highest value straight flush running from 10 to an Ace.
If the same hand is played the highest face value wins. For example, a pair of Kings wins over a pair of threes.
Roulette
Roulette is a table game taking bets on which slot the ball will land on the spinning wheel.
To play Roulette at the Emotion Casino, use your Windows key on the Roulette table and join a game. To place bets, look at the section on the betting grid and press "E" to add chips. This is best achieved in first person; your perspective can be toggled using the "enter" key on your numpad. Keybinds?
The following is an introductory guide on how to play. You can view more odds and payouts and learn how to play Roulette here.
Roulette Basics
Place your chips on the corresponding sections where you bet the ball will land. You can place bets on individual numbers, groups of numbers, colours, or odd or even. The more numbers in your selection the greater the odds and lower the payout. For example, betting on colour is almost half the wheel and only pays 1 to 1. Straight-up betting on an individual number such as 16 is a 1/36 chance and pays 35 to 1.
Slot Machines
Emotion Casino slot machines are simple games paying out for three matching symbols in the centre line. The slot reel has oranges, watermelons, cherries, bars, lemons, and sevens.
Play on a slot machine by using your Windows key. Select your bet from the UI and the slots will start to spin.
Slots are a simple solo game of chance but if you can read more here.
Lottery
The weekly lottery draw consists of three white numbers and one lucky gold number. For each ticket, you may select three white numbers 1 - 20 and one gold number 1 - 10.
The interface shows the payout information; matching all four numbers wins the jackpot. The current ticket price, jackpot, and draw history are shown in the menu.
The majority of your ticket's sale price is added to the jackpot. Buying a ticket will give you an item in your virtual inventory. Your ticket will read the draw date and your selection of numbers. Do not lose your ticket; you will need this item to claim any prizes you may win.
You can buy tickets at Gas Stations signs by using your Windows key and selecting "Lottery".
Sweepstakes
Staff and players can organize raffles and sweepstakes. Usually tickets for a chance to win items like a truck or sports car.
History
Lottery App & "Manual" Tickets
Originally, the lottery was a recurring event every 30 minutes. The notifications would appear on your HUD and players could purchase tickets via a phone app. The jackpot was often lucrative; it was common to see #LottoPump on Twitter building the hype and prize pot before publicly announcing the winner.
In Florida Life, then governor Mitchell Murphy headed the "Florida State Lottery". Tickets were sold manually by choosing three-digit numbers from government officials, restaurant staff, and modshop workers. This was eventually superseded in 6.3 with the introduction of ZKB's lottery system in the game today.
